Today It's All About The Book.

Do you consider yourself a reader? I do. I love losing myself is a story with characters that I like and who I want to have over for dinner. Don't you just feel excited when you pick up a book and get past the first few pages when you meet the people and see what their deepest desire is and then you read a few more chapters and wonder how it is ever going to happen, and then when it seems that all is lost you hit those last few chapters and you start getting sad because the world is suddenly righting itself and you know you are almost to the end of the book, but you don't want it to end. And when it does end, you feel as if you have been on a journey, as if you have reached the desire of your heart right along with your favorite character. It is so satisfying.
What book is on your keeper shelf, and if you're a real reader you know what a keeper shelf is, that you have read over and over? What book has changed the way you look at the world? What book makes you cry every time you read it? What book is just plain fun to read?
I love to see the variety in all the books my friends read and I am looking to add to my rather substantial "to be read" pile so tell me here or you can tell me all about it on Facebook.

  1. The old Julie Garwoods stay in my rotating pile and jump to the top out of turn. The Bride, The Wedding. And I get lured back to the Karen Marie Moning Highlander books all the time too.
I have a poor memory, so it's almost like reading them for the first time.

  2. Read over and over: To Kill a Mockingbird
Changed the way I view the wold: A Thousand Splendid Suns
Cry everytime: Snowflower and the Secret Fan
Just plain fun: No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency (entire series)

I'd love your answers to these questions.
